Cape Amethyst plain marquise are opaque to semi-transparent in quality showing moderate internal characteristics, the bodies are symmetrical shapes, the polish is fair due to surface reaching internal characteristics, the gem exhibits a typical Cape Amethyst coloration of shades of Purple mixed with Milky Quartz showing a chevron pattern in some gems, and these gems have a varied composition on the strand allowing for use as a group or individually.
